Humidification at Akubra Hats manufacturing in Australia

Australian hat manufacturer, Akubra, has recently installed a JetSpray humidification system from Condair to humidify its forming area. The humidifier is creating the ideal air humidity to ensure a perfect finish on the felt during the manufacturing process and provide the long lasting quality Akubra is known for.

Akubra is an iconic Australian brand, a manufacturer of classic bush hats made of rabbit fur felt with wide brims that are worn widely across rural Australia and also internationally.

Apple Campus, Cupertino

Cupertino, California, located close to San Francisco, is home to the headquarters of American technology company Apple. The building was designed by British architect Norman Foster, who realized the idea of an oversized ring in connection with the former Apple Campus at Infinite Loop No. 1 in Cupertino.

At a diameter of almost half a kilometre (461 m), the building complex offers a gigantic usable area of 260,000 m2 and space for 12,000 employees. The ring contains a 130,000 m2 park with rest areas, cafés, sports facilities and a rainbow-coloured festival stage, which was inaugurated by Lady Gaga in 2018. Powered entirely by renewable energy,
the building features a 17-megawatt rooftop solar energy system and energy-efficient evaporative cooling from Condair.

Taronga Zoo, Sydney

Condair supported Taronga Zoo, Sydney by manufacturing and installing precision-controlled resistive steam humidification systems for the Amphibian and Reptile Conservation Centre (ARC). Residents include the Tuatara, Southern Corroboree Frogs, Inland Taipans, Reticulated Python and many more. Condair was tasked with providing a humidity control solution that could be adapted to each exhibit as well as back of house supportive areas in the facility. With each of the housed residents being such a wide variety in species, a range of conditions would need to be managed at any given time of the year with strict control. Our team selected the RM model for this project due to its small installation footprint - ideal for the scale of the facilities. 46 humidifiers were supplied in total.

ECS Botanics

ECS Botanics is a medicinal cannabis cultivator based in Victoria, Australia. Carefully-controlled environments are critical to ensure the highest possible quality and yield for the organisation. They required both humidification and dehumidification equipment to grow, dry and store their products in optimal conditions. For complete humidity control, a system including resistive steam humidifiers and condensing dehumidifiers was selected. This enables close control throughout the year and across variable conditions.

Pfizer Ltd, UK

Pfizer has been based in Sandwich, UK, since 1954. The site at Discovery Park employs around 700 scientists, technicians, regulatory professionals and business experts all working towards creating life-saving medicines for patients. Condair RS resistive steam humidifiers are maintaining the desired humidity levels in the cleanrooms for the research taking place.

Canberra Hospital

Canberra Hospital is the largest district hospital in the Australian Capital Territory. Multiple Condair RS humidifiers were installed to maintain an optimal environment in the hospital. A resistive steam humidification system such as the Condair RS enables Canberra Hospital to carefully control the humidity levels in its facilities. Not only does an optimal humidity level provide a comfortable environment for staff and patients, it critically reduces the likelihood of infection and spread of viruses and also lowers the potential for electrostatic shocks.
